Discover our Chianti Vigna Vecchia, the most authentic expression of Tuscan winemaking tradition. Produced in the historic vineyards of Borgunto, a craft winery south of Arezzo, this Chianti Riserva DOCG is made from selected grapes and aged for over 24 months in oak barrels, acquiring complexity, structure, and an elegant bouquet of red fruits, spices, and vanilla.

The Territory: Colli Aretini DOCG

The “Old” vineyards of Borgunto are located in a perfectly sunny position facing south, ideal for the optimal ripening of the grapes. The unique terroir of Colli Aretini, characterized by daily temperature fluctuations and clay-limestone soils, promotes a slow and harmonious maturation, ensuring elegance, structure, and longevity in the wine.

Grape Varieties and Production Method

The blend of Chianti Riserva Vigna Vecchia respects the Tuscan tradition:

  • 89% Sangiovese: structure, lively acidity, notes of red cherry and sweet spices
  • 5% Canaiolo: softness and rounding of tannins
  • 8% Trebbiano and Malvasia: aromatic freshness and balance

The aging process includes 12 months in oak barrels (French and Slavonian) followed by at least 6 months in bottle, with final maturation in the medieval cellar at Via Borgunto 7, Arezzo.
