Truffle Honey Borgunto — The Most Surprising Pairing of Tuscan Tradition
Truffle honey is one of those products that divides opinions: those tasting it for the first time don't quite know what to expect, but then find it hard to live without. The contrast between the floral sweetness of honey and the earthy intensity of truffle creates a unique synergy of flavors, known and appreciated by Tuscan gastronomes for centuries. Our wildflower honey, harvested by local beekeepers from the Aretini Hills, meets the prized truffle of the region for a product that is both tradition and surprise.
The pairing with cheeses: the great classic
Truffle honey finds its ultimate expression when paired with aged cheeses. Aged Pecorino Toscano DOP finds the ideal counterpoint in truffle honey — sweet, aromatic, fragrant. It is also extraordinary with 24-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, spicy Gorgonzola, mature Brie, and Camembert. Absolutely one of the best pairings for a quality cheese platter.
Other surprising uses
- On foie gras or Tuscan liver pâté — the perfect sweet-salty contrast
- As a glaze for roasted white meats: chicken, rabbit, guinea fowl
- On Tuscan bread crostini with fresh ricotta — an elegant appetizer
- On white pizza with buffalo mozzarella and arugula
- As a dressing on beef carpaccio with shavings of parmesan
Characteristics and storage
Glass jar of 120g. Honey may crystallize over time — this is a natural process that does not compromise its quality or flavor. To return it to liquid form, immerse the closed jar in warm water (max 40°C) for a few minutes. Store at room temperature away from direct light.
