Chianti colli aretini is a DOCG wine , produced in the Tuscan region in the province of Arezzo.

Only hilly vineyards whose soils located at an altitude of no more than 700 meters , consist mainly of arenaceous, calcareous marly substrates, clayey schist, sand and pebbles are eligible.Vineyards located in humid soils, on valley bottoms and finally soils predominantly of clay are to be considered unsuitable.New plantings and replantings must have a density of no less than 4,400 vines/hectare.Any forcing practice is prohibited, but ‘ relief irrigation is permitted.In winemaking, the traditional oenological practice of governo all’uso Toscano, which consists of a slow refermentation of the freshly racked wine with grapes of the authorized varieties that have been slightly dried, is permitted.The wine is made from grapes of the authorized varieties.

All winemaking and bottling operations must be carried out in the DOCG area, but exceptions are allowed upon prior authorization.

It requires aging at least until October 1 of the year following the harvest.
